Welcome to Katayama Group, Chuo University
We have developed various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques to study the mechanism of photo-induced processes. We are trying to control such processes in a small space such as micro-reactors, surfaces or interfaces. Our interests cover photocatalysis, sensitized solar cell, photofunctional liquid crystal and polymer.

    Sakura Science Program supported by JST has started. 10 grauduate students from National Central University (NCU) visited the Department of Applied Chemistry at Chuo University. Prof. Shueh-Lin Yao led the students as a guide professor.
    Mr. Nguyen The Duy and Ren-Tzong Wang joined our group to work research projects in our group.
    We visited JAXA at Tsukuba, guided by Dr. Yishizaki, who explained the crystallization of proteins in space. (Collaborator of Prof. Komatsu)
